Naevehjem sponsors four events each year

March Melee

This is a day of melee's and challenges with warriors practicing the arts of heavy weapons and rapier. Boffers may also be available for those who are too young to practice the other martial arts. See your February/March "Crown Prints" for more information.

March 17, 2007

Naevehjem Water Festival

Lately held at Lake Diaz in northern Naevehjem, spend a day lobbing water balloons and soaking the unwary with decidedly un-period water weapons, competing at warrior games open to all, and… water jousting! Saturday evening's entertainment is the famous torch lit pit fight. Other activities include a silent auction. See your July/August "Crown Prints"  for more information.

August 10-12, 2007

Frost Dragon Tournament

and

Baronial Archery Championship

This is the Naevehjem Baronial Anniversary featuring a heavy weapons tournament and rapier, arts and intellectual endeavors, and many other diversions for your entertainment. The day is culminated by the arrival of the Frost Dragon, who can be battled by anyone brave enough to face his icy breath with nothing but a boffer and shield. The evening feast is catered and there is plenty of entertainment. Reservations for the feast usually need to be made before the event as it sells out early. See your October/November "Crown Prints" or contact for more information.

The day following the Baronial Anniversary, Naevehjem holds a contest to determine its Archery Champion. Everyone is invited to participate in royal rounds and novelty shoots. See your October/November Crown Prints for more information.

Local Events

A “local” event in the SCA is in the same time zone, or at least not too many zones away…

These are within a few hours of Naevehjem

Estrella War

This is the big one.

More than a few hours away.

Plan to go.

Estrella War XXIII

A note regarding camping at Estrella from the Naevehjem campmaster

Greetings all!!

At Coronation yesterday, I saw a preliminary site map of the War and

how the kingdoms each have land allocated to them.  The battlefields

appear to be in the middle and camping areas laid out on each side so

that each kingdom has one edge adjacent to the central battlefield, and

probably merchant, areas.  Hopefully, they will have the site map up on

the official war website soon.

As to Caidan allocations, a page has been set up on the Kingdom web

site to sign up to camp with a particular group for the war for land

allocation purposes.  If you plan to camp with Naevehjem, please go to

        http://www.sca-caid.org/estrellaland/estrella_land.php

read the page and look for the "camper" link at the bottom.  It's

pretty simple.  We are Naevehjem Camp and I've already done the

"campmaster" thing for us; we are apparently the 6th group to sign up

thus far.  Regardless of any pre-registration you may have done, please

fill out the camper request form for each individual you plan to have

come camp with us -- no apparent obligation if your plans change at a

later date.  This seems to be way early to be doing this, but the time

passes fairly rapidly and land allocation ends 28 January.

Please help us with an honest estimate of whether you plan to camp with

us or not so we can obtain an ample, but not overly generous, space at

the war.

Thanks much!

                                                Your humble servant,

                                                                James
